Gastric Reflux > See the Complete List

Gastric reflux occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophageal tube connecting your mouth and stomach. Dietary response to certain food is the primary cause of gastric reflux, especially excessive alcohol intake, black pepper, garlic, chocolate, citrus fruits, coffee, high fat/high sugar, dairy and processed foods. The symptoms include a burning sensation in your chest after eating, chest pain, difficulty swallowing, regurgitation of food or sour liquid, and nausea. Typically, we can treat gastric reflux without any pharmaceutical intervention quite successfully. A healthy intestinal microbiome, food allergies and sensitivities determined by testing and food elimination programs can reduce or eliminate all symptoms. Medical massage and acupuncture are also beneficial in reducing the physical components.
