Did you know that acupuncture has been shown to be more effective than conventional treatment for migraines, back and knee pain? Acupuncture is also the complementary therapy most recommended by medical doctors (M.D.'s), and is covered under more insurance plans than ever before. No other traditional healing method has ever earned as much world-wide success, recognition and support! Acupuncture is now an established part of the modern medical field.
There are very few health topics and labels that are as emotionally charged, intensely personal and challenging as infertility. Strict medication and assisted reproductive technique schedules alone can be very stressful. When added on to the expectations and possible fears of living with fertility challenges, they can prove overwhelming.
Acupuncture provides a valuable complimentary therapy for the reduction of the symptoms and stresses of the cancer patient.
In addition to its well known effectiveness at reducing many pain syndromes, reducing insomnia and anxiety and moderating digestive complaints, a great deal of research illustrates the importance of acupuncture in the holistic approach to cancer management.
What is Biotherapeutic Drainage?
Biotherapeutic Drainage is a type of detox, both gentle yet profound, that aids in the elimination of toxins and waste products, restoring balance to the body. The main remedies used in this system are the Unda numbered compounds. Created in Switzerland by physicians in the 1920-30’s, these homeopathic drainage formulas are composed of a synergistic blend of plants and minerals that promote proper elimination of toxins and wastes. In addition to the Unda numbers, additional herbal formulations, including gemmotherapies and phytogen formulas may be used to further facilitate drainage and balance in affected organ systems.
The Center offers a wide variety of cancer care treatments — including IV therapy, acupuncture, medical massage and clinical nutrition — to help boost your immune system, reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, increase your energy, reduce anxiety and generally improve your quality of life.
Desiring a healthier life may be your goal, but for you and millions others it can prove more challenging. You may feel that your immunity is low. You may be in a state of physiological, mental or emotional unrest. Or you may be faced with a more serious illness or chronic pain.
Nowhere is the need for an integrative approach more apparent than in the management of chronic illness. We are a synthesis of many systems all working together, and when one or more systems become diseased, all of the others will be stressed as well. From physical challenges, to the challenges of everyday living, to a satisfying quality of life, we have to go past seeing that illness in isolation, and search to understand and nurture the person who is living with a chronic illness.
Detoxification is a term that is often used for chemical and alcohol dependencies. However, it is also a term, which describes the removal of normal metabolic wastes that accumulate from the body’s normal functions.

An Integrative Approach: Using homeopathy in health promotion, preventive care, and treatment of acute and chronic illness.
Integrative Medicine is a rapidly growing field of medicine that seeks to integrate the best of western scientific medicine with the wisdom of complementary practices, including clinical nutrition, acupuncture, herbal, botanical and vitamin supplement therapies, manual techniques, energy healing and mind/body medicine.
Integrative medicine is the blending of conventional medicine with holistic, complementary, and alternative medicine. Integrative Medicine is defined as healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, heart and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative.
Chronic illnesses are on the rise in the US. From chronic Lyme disease, cancers, chronic fatigue, pain and more – patients are attempting to live their best lives while fighting a battle within.
We often associate healthcare with “sick” care – but then where does wellness fit in? At the Stram Center, we believe that it is not only important to heal the body, but to also bring the body into its utmost state of wellbeing.
There is much research regarding the use of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) in cancer therapy. However, most of the research focuses on oral rather than the more effective intravenous (IV) route of administration. IV vitamin C has a significantly greater effect on immune enhancement than the conventional oral route of administration.
At the Stram Center we vow to continue our education on Lyme Disease research, stay up to date on the most effective testing and all the safe available therapies. Moreover, our years of experience in treating patients according to the whole person-integrative medicine approach allows us the most effective way to care for our patients.
Lymphatic drainage massage is a specialized massage technique for the purpose of reducing swelling in the body and increasing the flow of lymph.
The Stram Center is pleased to be able to prescribe medical marijuana to certain populations of patients, meeting required NYS mandated criteria. We believe that medical marijuana will be a good symptom control option for patients not adequately benefiting from conventional pharmaceutical symptom control for the qualifying conditions.
Medical massage therapy identifies the massage therapist as having more medical training and focuses the sessions more specifically. Medical massage therapy can utilize a combination of manual medicine techniques as described below to optimize the effectiveness of this mode of treatment.
Mind-body medicine is based on the idea that the mind and body are connected. The power of the mind to heal the body is immense. When the mind is brought into greater calm and focus, the body then experiences more abundant health, energy, and wellness. At The Center we offer an array of mind-body therapies to support you on your path to greater health and healing.

Much like a general practitioner, a naturopathic doctor manages a broad range of health conditions affecting all people of all ages. However, naturopathic medicine is a distinct system of primary health care, distinguished by the healing principles upon which its practice is based.
The practitioners at the Center recognize that diet is often the basis for your heath and your potential to heal. Adopting a healthy diet is often the first step towards correcting health problems. Many medical conditions can be treated more effectively when the patient implements specific diets and uses nutritional supplements. These interventions afford fewer complications and side effects than some pharmaceutical treatments and are often more beneficial.
Pain can affect every part of our lives. Pain can lead to fatigue, emotional distress and many other challenges in addition to the physical discomfort. The causes of pain can vary widely, and although most people with chronic pain share much in common, every person living with pain has their own story. At the Center, our emphasis is on resolving the source of the pain, not merely masking or covering it up.
At the Stram Center, we believe that staying physically fit and eating healthy is paramount to good health, vitality and longevity. Most people know this to be true, but find that their busy lifestyles prevent them from having the time to devote to the gym. No more excuses! With our fitness program, all you need is 30 minutes a day. Who doesn’t have time for that?
We all have the power within us to promote health and self improvement in ourselves and in others. The ability to tap into the unseen life force energy which flows through us and causes us to be alive is inherent in us all.
