Naturopathic Consultations for Chronic Illness

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your chronic illness does not define you: You are not your disease. Naturopathic medicine will take into account the whole person, not simply the symptoms of a disease.

The naturopath plays a large role in the effective management or alleviation of chronic illness. A naturopaths’ training focuses on the natural approach to health, which allows for the consideration of all components of our well-being: from nutrition, to supplementation, genetic and health history, risk factor analysis and more.

Your initial visit with your naturopath is 90 minutes long, during which time an in depth review of your symptoms and history will occur. The extensive history reviewed includes all facets of the patient’s beliefs, symptoms and lifestyle, which form the groundwork for developing an effective comprehensive treatment plan that will enhance your therapy regimen.

Your naturopath will employ an approach utilizing the body’s own natural healing modalities, encouraging the use and refinement of one’s innate ability to achieve health and balance through the use of natural herbs, enzymes, homeopathic remedies, healthy lifestyle habits, and proper nutrition. The naturopath’s use of a collaborative, team approach is paramount in the treatment of chronic illnesses, and such will allow for the best diagnostics and treatment options available, utilizing the skill and knowledge of our medical team.

It is our hope and intent at the Stram Center to offer guidance and direction in the management of your chronic illness through utilization of the most natural modalities possible.
