Qualifications:

-          Bachelor`s degree in a related field or minimum 1 year experience as a medical scribe.

-          Ability to navigate through an EMR system with a general understanding of medical terminology.

-          Demonstrates a minimum typing speed of 60WPM with high accuracy.

-          Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

-          Efficient in Google docs, Word, Power Point, and Zoom.

Responsibilities:

-          Assistant to the Medical Director.

-          Prep patient charts, print labs, and make sure provider room/exam rooms are organized and neat.

-          Welcome and guide patients into providers office.

-          Accurately transcribe the patient’s history, physical exam findings, consultations, labs, X-rays, and other evaluations, as stated by the provider, directly into the medical record.

-          Accompany provider during entire patient encounter including physical exam.

-          Finalizes patient treatment plan prior to patient leaving office and communicates patient treatment plans to nursing staff and any pertinent information to Front Desk.

-          Works as a liaison between the nursing department, front desk, and assigned provider for efficient patient care.

-          Coordinate weekly provider and nurse care team meetings.

-          Willingness to learn and research patient outcomes with different therapies offered at the center.

Full Time Phlebotomist Delmar Office

Stram Center is in search of a full-time, experienced Phlebotomist to work out of our state-of-the-art lab in our Delmar office.

Description:

•   Performing blood draws, processing blood samples for specialty and general labs, Adult and pediatric

  • Assist in scanning, faxing and returning patient calls
  • Performing administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, corrective actions, Pre-authorizations, charting, faxing, etc. as required.

Description of Duties:

Implement physician's or nurse practitioners' orders; administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and monitor patients during treatment;

Schedule and document treatment as required by practice policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations;

Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition; meet regularly with assigned physician or nurse practitioner to review patient cases;

Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to care rendered and apply sound nursing judgement in patient care management decisions;

Collaborate with nursing team to create a plan of care for patients and procedures;

Medical Assistant Delmar Office

The Stram Center for Integrative Medicine is an integrative health office looking to add to their innovative practice. We are looking to hire a medical assistant to be a bridge between the medical and administrative parts of the practice. This individual will have outstanding communication skills to help effectively facilitate the therapeutic experience of our patients. We are seeking a professional individual who truly understands the value of compassionate service. Work with a fabulous team of nurses and administrative colleagues.

This position is a hybrid of administrative and clinical duties, including but not limited to the following:

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, you will assist with the essential duties and responsibilities associated with:

  • Scheduling and documenting patient treatment
  • Clinical functions that may include but are not limited to; vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, EMR documentation
  • Maintaining a safe environment by following safety rules and regulations.
  • HIPAA Compliance – complies with all Privacy and Confidentiality Policies and Procedures

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy administration duties:

  • Operates and monitors hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support systems
  • Hyperbaric chamber maintenance and cleaning as required
  • Document all care provided accurately & completely according to practice policies including vital signs, and pre & post health screenings, response to treatments as needed
  • Recognize change in the patient’s condition and intervene appropriately
  • Appreciate the general principles of wound homeostasis, infection control and wound healing control policies
  • Know and demonstrate knowledge of the risks and potential side effects of exposure to hyperbaric doses of oxygen, such as barotrauma, oxygen toxicity, hypoglycemia, and decompression sickness

Duties associated with the lab when covering for phlebotomy:

  • Completes appropriate consents prior to collection of limited coverage tests
  • Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and ensures that all supplies are viable before using for patient collection
  • Sends specimens to appropriate laboratories
  • Processes in-house and in-coming reports
  • Updates and files all daily paperwork, lab logs and maintenance logs
  • Properly identifies and verifies patients and specimens
  • Operates designated laboratory equipment as directed
  • Complies with regulatory agency standards. Adheres to all OSHA compliance laws and Universal Precaution procedures
  • Properly disposes of hazardous materials
  • Maintains a clean working environment
  • Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff

Licensed Massage Therapist Independent Contractor

The Stram Center for Integrative Medicine is currently in search of an Independent Contractor,  part-time, skilled NYS Licensed Massage Therapist who is passionate about promoting health and understands the value of compassionate service. If you love learning integrative therapies, this position allows you to work alongside an amazing team.

The LMT will provide treatment to Stram Center patients seeking help to relieve pain, improve circulation, increase relaxation and utilize a whole body approach to therapy. Preferred modalities are myofascial release, craniosacral and lymphatic drainage massage.
Stram Center does all the scheduling and billing, provides linen, and private massage room for therapist.
