Our medical practitioners have participated in preceptorships through ILADS and are highly experienced through the many years of treatment with Lyme patients at the Stram Center. Together with their clinical experience, research and partnership with the scientific Lyme community, our practitioners have been able to formulate an effective and compassionate approach to treating Lyme disease.
Your initial appointment with your Lyme disease practitioner will be approximately 2 hours long and will include a comprehensive assessment of your history and evaluation of your current symptoms. Because Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis and current testing is not reliable, the comprehensive initial visit allows our practitioners to effectively and accurately diagnose Lyme disease based on their knowledge of the varied symptoms associated with the disease and the co-infections that may be present.
The Stram Center for Integrative Medicine offers a truly integrative approach to the treatment of Lyme disease.
Given our experience using the integrative model to treat our patients since 2003, we work first and foremost with the patient's story. This is also how we follow the progression of their disease and on to recovery.
We address the patient's lifestyle which includes diet, exercise, and social environments at work and home; we continue to monitor and review the biological terrain from which their medical condition is evaluated using state of the art laboratory analysis, including and not limited to Lyme testing, immunological testing, nutrient testing, and potentially stool and urine testing as well.
Our treatment is based on honoring the interconnection of the whole person, the pathology they are faced with and the multitude of treatment options that are available. We pool this knowledge together, with the patient, to formulate a customized treatment plan.
If you are a new patient and would like to inquire about how our treatment would benefit your personal journey with Lyme disease, or someone you know, please feel free to call and speak with one of our new patient advocates at the Stram Center at 518-689-2244, or click here to send a message!
