Mind-body medicine is based on the idea that the mind and body are connected. The power of the mind to heal the body is immense. When the mind is brought into greater calm and focus, the body then experiences more abundant health, energy, and wellness. At The Center we offer an array of mind-body therapies to support you on your path to greater health and healing.

Meditation

Within each being is a central core of peace and clear wisdom. However, our busy minds often make it difficult to realize and utilize that knowledge.

Regular meditation practice is very helpful in bringing the body and mind into a more focused, calm, and healthy state. To help you get started we offer one-on-one meditation instruction. We can then support the continuation of your meditation practice in future sessions.

Breathing Techniques

Deep breathing brings oxygen to our cells, helps us think more clearly, promotes relaxation, improves blood flow to the heart, brain, and other organs, and helps wash away toxins.

Deep breathing techniques can improve muscle strength and nerve function, decrease inflammation, and promote wound healing. Deep breathing can help lower blood pressure and decrease pain. The breathing techniques offered at The Center will also help you feel calmer and happier. You are gently guided through these breathing exercises and taught how to use them at home and at work.

Nutrition as Mind-Body Medicine

Our atoms, and therefore our cells and organs, are comprised of energy. The energy in the food we eat can help boost and balance the energy of our tissues and organs.

By discovering which foods meet our health requirements, food can be used as medicine to help our body heal and make our mind calm.

You will be offered an array of ideas for how to make tasty health-promoting, energy boosting meals which will help decrease pain, soothe inflammation, and improve sleep.

Guided Imagery for Mind-Body Medicine

In a guided imagery healing session we help you focus your thoughts in positive ways. This therapy helps dissolve physical, mental and emotional stresses and blocks which may be adding to the disease or disease you are currently experiencing.
